Flawed reasoning meets sound logic in Tennessee

Some are geniuses at baptizing weird syllogisms. Witness the oddball congregational logic in the face of the world-wide coronavirus pandemic. The first premise: “I must trust God as disease ransacks the land;” the second: “Precautions show distrust and lack of faith.” The conclusion: “I’ll take no COVID-19 precautions.”

An anonymous but wise pastor in Tennessee saw the gaping holes in such reasoning. His or her reply is making the rounds on Facebook. Here it is for all to see:
