Hollering at a buried man

The wits are yucking it up over President Trump’s strange feud with the late Senator John McCain. I’ve seen two stellar examples. One, published in the Toronto Star and shared on Facebook, contrasts the maturity of the antagonists and their national service in one blow. On the left is McCain’s name with a navy pin and military medals. On the right is Trump’s name, the twitter logo, and three rows of pacifiers.

A second underscores the bizarre nature of Trump’s feud:

trump yelling at grave

Pundits are analyzing the president’s political agenda, strategy, and tactics. Maybe he’s rallying his base in an ingenious play for 2020 votes. But perhaps they’re giving him too much credit. Maybe he simply doesn’t see the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 7:9: “Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.”

I pray he’ll eventually see the truth in that verse.
