And we didn’t even have to pressure anyone to push the envelope …

May was another record-breaker at The Alternative Mainstream, with 1,393 visitors clobbering April’s high of 1,093.  And why not? It was a month of nonsense — with “Progressive Protestants” joining secular critics in accusing almost all evangelicals of following Harold Camping’s prophesies, and evangelicals responding with guilt and self-doubt — even though few gave Camping a moment’s thought before the accusations flowed.  We love guilt.  Give us more, even if it’s false.  More seriously, Roman Catholic leaders called Congress to task (good), but at least one archdiocese shows little evidence of learning from past grave errors (bad — very bad).

Is there anyone out there who thinks we don’t need renewal and revival? Perhaps things could be worse, but they could also be better.

More stats: We struck a new high of 45 average daily hits; May 3rd brought in 215 visitors and May 21 brought in 103.

Okay.  So the pope isn’t asking for our autograph and notables don’t note us, but it’s progress. We’ll make more if we tally up more “likes” on our Facebook page. Tap the Facebook icon below, then like us, then pass on the word:
